Branch Picnic

Our branch in Nanjing is made up of only expats (non-Chinese passport holders).  We take the Metro on 2 trains to get there with about 20-25 minutes of walking, altogether about 50 minutes.  We have about 10-12 people that are couples or individuals like we are, either CTP teachers or have work in China.  There seems to be about 8 or so permanent families here.  We then have about 45 20-24 year olds that are either doing a study abroad or signed up to teach English in some of the elementary schools.  Most don't have their degrees yet.  It's like being in a YSA ward with some extra families and couples.  Primary only has 7 children.  People are nice and we all try to get through this China experience together.

We had a ward picnic the week after we got here.  It was a long Metro ride away.  They told us how to get Subway before we got there, so we stopped.  Picnicing in China isn't quite the same.  There was a lake at the site though.  There was grass at the park but it wasn't really growing.  It was quite a walk to get to the Subway and then to the park and very hot.

This picture's for you mom!

We met some very nice ward members there.
We saw this billboard on the way over and I liked it.  It reminded me of my daughter, Jessica.
