Branch Picnic
Our branch in Nanjing is made up of only expats (non-Chinese passport holders). We take the Metro on 2 trains to get there with about 20-25 minutes of walking, altogether about 50 minutes. We have about 10-12 people that are couples or individuals like we are, either CTP teachers or have work in China. There seems to be about 8 or so permanent families here. We then have about 45 20-24 year olds that are either doing a study abroad or signed up to teach English in some of the elementary schools. Most don't have their degrees yet. It's like being in a YSA ward with some extra families and couples. Primary only has 7 children. People are nice and we all try to get through this China experience together. We had a ward picnic the week after we got here. It was a long Metro ride away. They told us how to get Subway before we got there, so we stopped. Picnicing in China isn't quite the same. There was a lake at the site though. There was grass at the park but it wasn't really growing. It was quite a walk to get to the Subway and then to the park and very hot.

This picture's for you mom! |
We met some very nice ward members there.
We saw this billboard on the way over and I liked it. It reminded me of my daughter, Jessica.
